Leona, the Radiant Dawn


Leona is a support tank. She is usually found in a duo lane with an AD carry.  Her role is to be a pure tank specializing in protection and disruption.  Her kite sports not 1 not 2 but 3 stuns. Yeah 3 stuns.  She is very difficult to kill and can feed her AD carry kills. 

As Leona is a tanky support there are very few champions that directly counter her.  Leona is a disrupter unfortunately the way to counter her is to disrupt her from locking down your team.  In the early game having a ranged support that can peel is ideal, like Nami or Janna.  Ranged squishy supports just get eaten when Leona lands her hook, Zenith Blade.  Leona has no heal for herself or her teammates so casual trading is not going to be her tactic.  She will lie in wait and go all in when she sees an opportunity. you have been warned.

- Leona is one of the tankiest champions in the league.


- Leona has stuns a plenty which allows her to train enemy champions.


- Her ultimate is one of the strongest initiations in the game sporting long range, stunning and or slowing enemy champions.


- Ever heard of the term shield-wall? Yeah it's referring to Leona.

- As a support champion she has no heal for herself or her teammate.


- Leona starts off with weak base stats and will typically wait till level 3 to all in, harassing before level 3 will usually not not provoke a trade unless the jungler is lurking.


- Leona has been coined a snowball champion, without assists/kills early she will taper off. Play safe.

Damaging spells afflict enemies with Sunlight for 3.5 seconds. When allied Champions deal damage to those targets, they consume the Sunlight debuff to deal additional magic damage.

Leona uses her shield to perform her next basic attack, dealing bonus magic damage and stunning the target.


The next basic attack deals an additional 40/70/100/130/160 (+0.3) magic damage and stuns an enemy for 1.25 seconds.

Eclipse


Leona raises her shield to gain Armor and Magic Resistance. When the duration first ends, if there are nearby enemies she will deal magic damage to them and prolong the duration of the effect.


Gains 30/40/50/60/70 bonus Armor and Magic Resist for 3 seconds. When the effect ends, nearby enemies struck take 60/110/160/210/260 (+0.4) magic damage and Leona retains her bonus Armor and Magic Resist for 3 seconds.

Zenith Blade


Leona projects a solar image of her sword, dealing magic damage to all enemies in a line. When the image fades, the last enemy champion struck will be briefly immobilized and Leona will dash to them.


Strikes all enemies in a line dealing 60/100/140/180/220 (+0.4) magic damage. The last enemy Champion struck will be briefly rooted and Leona will dash to them.

Solar Flare


Leona calls down a beam of solar energy, dealing damage to enemies in an area. Enemies in the center of the area are stunned, while enemies on the outside are slowed.


Calls down a radiant beam of solar energy dealing 150/250/350 (+0.8) magic damage and slowing enemies by 80% for 1.5 seconds. Enemies in the center of the flare are stunned instead of slowed.
