Malphite, Shard of the Monolith


Malphite is a tank who will jungle or top lane, and sometimes is seen mid.  He scales with ability power, but is most effective when built as a tank.  His ultimate, Unstoppable Force, is one of the best initiations in the game.  

When laning against a Malphite picking ability power champions with good poke and sustain will make the laning phase difficult for malphite until he gets some key items.  He is very mana dependent so always keep an eye on his mana bar to know when you should jump on him.  When he is jungling, an early invade at level 1 could hurt him a lot, especially if you deprive him of his blue buff.  This sets him back very far and will make him take a long time to reach level six and really impact the game for his team. 

- Unstoppable Force is an amazing initiation and is good at making carries pay for being out of position.  


- He has so much natural armor and can tank most of the attack damage champions in lane and in team fights.  


 

- Ability power champions can melt him much easier and trump his armor passive


- He is mana dependent and will run out if constantly spamming spells.  


- He doesn't pose a threat until he reaches level 6

Malphite slams the ground dealing 60/100/140/180/220 (+0.3) (+0.2) magic damage to surrounding enemies, reducing their Attack Speed by 30/35/40/45/50% for 3 seconds.

This ability gains damage equal to 30% of Armor.
